This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join the team.
About the Company
Our client provides managed IT support services to businesses in and around Leicester and Leicestershire. This opportunity will see you dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis helping them with their IT issues and service requests as well assisting with the role out of IT projects and new hardware installations. The apprentice will assist the existing technician and will be given full training to carry out the role.
They are a small and friendly team which has been grown from previous IT Apprentices. Your colleagues will understand what you need to learn and will provide all the support you need to teach you the ropes and help you gain your qualification as you start your career in IT.
This role will involve providing remote and on-site support to customers; therefore it is essential that you should have a full, clean driving licence as well as your own vehicle which you should be prepared to use for travelling to customers sites (business mileage will be paid which will cover the cost of fuel, insurance and wear and tear of your vehicle. Depending on your age and length of time driving, we may be able to add you to the company insurance to use a company vehicle).
We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Network Engineer Technician who is a hardworking, organised individual with flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Your main roles and responsibilities will include:
• Network Administration and Troubleshooting.
• Server Operating System Administration and Troubleshooting.
• Day-to-day IT support including troubleshooting computer issues and completing service requests.
• Cloud System (Microsoft 365) Administration and Troubleshooting.
• Participating in and recommending service improvements to customers including cyber security.
• Project roll out including hardware installations, network installations, server installations and migration of on-premises infrastructure to Cloud.
• Assisting 1st Line IT Support Technicians and accepting escalated tickets which require more in-depth and advanced troubleshooting.
• Responding to general enquiries and providing basic training to customer.
• Always maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Logging customer issues into company management systems and ensuring records are kept up-to-date and recording all steps taken to resolve customer issues.
• Perform ad-hoc requests as needed by the business.
Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive training through blended learning. This combines online technical training within a virtual classroom, as well as real-world and practical experience with your employer. The skills, knowledge and experience you will gain whilst on the programme are invaluable, giving you the best possible start in your professional career within the IT industry.

Training to be Provided : CORE MODULES
The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the
knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician.
The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending
on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available.
Computer Fundamentals & Security
Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting.
Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services
An introduction to the fundamental cloud
concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking modules, devices and protocols.
Communication in Support
Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.
Other Information : You must have a full driving license and vehicle.
