Brief Description

IT Apprentice required to join an established and experienced IT & telecoms support SME. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide onsite & remote IT support to clients.

Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will have GSCE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent).

Training to be Provided

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification:
The qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into one of the following pathways:

• IT Support Technician
• Network Technician
• Digital Communications Technician

Your Tutor, Pathway Planner and Employer will decide the best pathway for you to follow.
All training is delivered online in virtual classrooms twice per week
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed 

Future Prospects

On completion of Level 3 apprenticeship, potentially a full time IT Technician role maybe available.

Are you a practical problem solver with a passion for IT? After a period of business growth, Link ICT are on the lookout for another apprentice to join their team of techies! Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide onsite & remote IT support to clients.

Your duties will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
• Provide onsite and remote IT technical support to clients
• Respond to support tickets in a timely manner, resolving tickets where possible and
• escalating where necessary
• Ordering new ICT hardware and logging devices onto asset register Installation and configuring of operating systems
• Software installation, such as MS Office and anti-virus
• Some lower-level network administration may be required, such as setting policies and group permissions
• Performing server backups where required
• Supporting with any technical queries regarding unified communication
• Technical fault diagnosis with audio-visual equipment

This is not just a desk job. You will have the opportunity to get out onto client sites and provide real IT Support. The company is based near to the city centre with excellent transport links. Experienced technical colleagues who can provide support and guidance. Free parking is available onsite. Full & clean driving license and access to own vehicle is required. Location: Mainly based between North Derbyshire (Chesterfield) and the office in Derby City Centre
